ISTA Group Visit - Friday 14th September 2007 |

On Friday 14th September, Hugh Bailey led a group of members from the International Steel Trade Association (ISTA) to our port facility in Newport. Representatives of some of the major trading groups were present along with members of the press. The weather as is usual in Wales was fabulous and everyone enjoyed a convivial couple of hours looking at the operation of the W.E Dowds facility including a visit aboard a vessel during discharge at Associated British Ports - Newport.

- Operations at both Associated British Ports Newport and Cardiff Dock Facilities, South Wales, United Kingdom.
- 8 Separate Covered Warehouses with a combined area of over 45,000 sq m in Newport and a 9,000 sq m unit in Cardiff.
- External hard standing storage area of 8,000 square metres.
- All Warehouses are linked wirelessly to a central database and customers have password protected access to information via the internet.
- Vessels of up to 40,000 DWT can be accommodated in Newport and up to 30,000 DWT at Cardiff.
